Simply put it's powdered green tea, but really it's a little more complicated than that.
Tea leaves (of the tencha variety) are shaded for four weeks before harvest to ensure the potency of chlorophyll is at its highest, and is packed with l'theanine and antioxidants. Once the youngest, sweetest leaves are picked, the bitter stems and veins are removed and the leaves are dried before being stone-ground into a fine powder.
