What is matcha?
Simply put, it's powdered green tea leaves. The leaves are stone ground into a fine powder, so you're consuming all of the leaf’s goodness. Rather than steeping tea leaves in water, matcha is stone ground tea leaves, so you’re consuming a whole load of green goodness.
Where does matcha come from?
Our matcha comes from the foothills of Uji, Japan. The home of tea and where they’ve been making the best matcha since it was discovered in the 1100s by Japanese monks who used to drink it to maintain focus through hours of meditation.
How to tell you’re drinking the best matcha?
Ceremonial grade is one of the highest quality matcha available. Our matcha is tested for heavy metals every harvest (we’ll happily share our reports with you). Check for a vibrant green colour, a fresh fragrance and a finely ground powder. Find out more about our JENKI blend here.
