Finance Manager
JENKI - London
About JENKI
JENKI is a modern matcha brand, built on craft, clarity of flavour, and meaningful daily rituals.
We source directly from Japanese producers and prepare every matcha fresh to order in our bars. No shortcuts. No dilution. Just exceptional matcha, made the right way.
Five years in, we’re entering a new phase of growth. With an ambitious bar rollout, a growing e-commerce business, and expanding partnerships, our ambition is to define how matcha is experienced in the modern world - and to lead the category as it continues to grow.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working closely alongside our Accounts & Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of financial control. This is a technical, detail-oriented role: you will be the guardian of accurate financial reporting, balance sheet & P&L control and disciplined working capital management. The strongest candidates will have an eye for detail coupled with impressive analytical skills.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Month-End Close
- Own the month-end close process, ensuring accurate, timely and well-controlled management accounts are delivered. This may include, but not limited to, review & posting of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Reporting & Control
- Support the Finance Director with variance analysis and provide meaningful financial insights for monthly reporting and board packs.
- Maintain and continuously improve financial controls, processes and reporting standards, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external accounting requirements.
- Ensure statutory reporting, tax filings and internal policies are followed consistently across the business.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Monitor and manage working capital, including debtors, creditors and stock, to support liquidity.
- Support cash flow forecasting and treasury processes, flagging risks and opportunities early.
Business Partnering
- Work closely alongside the Accounts & Payroll Manager on day-to-day finance operations, month-end tasks and payroll-related queries.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operational & marketing teams, helping them understand cost drivers and margins across channels.
- Support the Finance Director & CEO with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as the business grows.
Systems & Automation
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual work and improve the speed and reliability of financial reporting. Optimise our existing Xero-based tech stack.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar).
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical accounting background, with proven experience owning month-end close, balance sheet control and P&L accuracy.
- Scale-Up Mindset: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment where processes are still being built and refined.
- Sector Experience: Experience in a multi-channel or multi-site business (hospitality, online, wholesale, retail).
- Systems Savvy: Practical systems experience, ideally Xero, with an interest in building a tech stack around accounting software. Advanced Excel skills. SQL or Python a strong advantage.
- Ambitious: This role offers genuine progression. As JENKI scales, the right person will have the opportunity to grow with the business, with a realistic path towards a Head of Finance or Finance Director role within 3-5 years.
Inclusion
At JENKI, we believe different perspectives make brands stronger and communities richer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences. Even if you don’t meet every requirement listed, we’d still love to hear from you if this role excites you.
